Perzine (remains unnamed)
This summer as a side project to my regular zine publication, I've decided to start a longer, much more detailed zine about my personal struggle with a long term eating disorder.
Publishing something like this is hard-- to relive the terrible moments that once dominated my life is difficult in that they are still very fresh and vivid. I read a perzine of another writer, and was truly inspired by her reality and honesty in her work. I've always wanted to write something like this, not because i believe i have a story that is inspiring, or uplifting, but because i feel like sharing the core of who you are with other readers brings passion and reality back into writing. I feel hollow without writing. therefore, i feel like it is a responsibility of my own to put a back cover on this story that defined who i was and what i've become.
The 40ish page Perzine is due out at the end of August. Contact me via email or at www.wemakezines.ning.com if you'd like to read it.
Happy Reading,
Sarah.
